Katie Couric admitted in her new book that she attempted to cover-up comments made in an interview by the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg bashing professional athletes who took a knee during the National Anthem.
The protests showed a “contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life,” Ginsburg told the former Today show host in the 2016 interview according to the Daily Mail.
Couric admitted she edited out the comments from the published interview in order to protect Ginsburg’s image claiming the late justice was “elderly and probably didn't fully understand the question.”
